My name is Gina. I’m 26 and I’ve been dealing with “official” (diagnosed) chronic illness since 2014. However, I haven’t really been healthy since I was 12 and have dealt with a lot of things prior to my diagnoses. Yes, plural. I’m currently fighting POTS (dysautonomia) and there are many things that go along with that including: gastroparesis, colonic inertia, hypovolemia (low blood volume), inappropriate sinus tachycardia, cognitive issues, and venous pooling, to name a few. I also have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. I think that’s it. We’re still investigating because there’s a cause behind all of this, we just don’t know what it is. It’s been a long road and I still have a long road ahead of me, but I’m hoping to get to the point where I can go back to school to get my master’s in clinical mental health counseling because that’s what I have always wanted to do… become a counselor. For right now though, I’m not able to work. My job at the moment is to try and get HEALTHY!
